• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX:SE How to fully convert an FS2004 scenery to FSX?

Hello! So, I wanted to convert Jeremy Paul's Navi Mumbai Airport scenery (you can download here: https://flight-sim-scenery-showcase-45b17e87.base44.app/ProjectDetail?id=6980e1f8071cde9d69805447) and use it in FSX. I took a few screenshots of the airport beforehand in the simulator, before any modifications. Here are what they look like:

The first time I opened the airport, I did not take any screenshots. But from what I remembered, it was pretty broken, like the airport is not visible and the satellite imagery under it happens to be a hill, so there was a deep downhill part of the airport in the middle. A few ground objects also seem to be floating, especially the main terminal and fire department station. I then later opened the airport the 2nd time and it looked like it fixed itself, except the main terminal building is still floating. So, I closed the simulator, opened ADE (Airport Design Editor) Version 179 and re-compiled only the following BGL Files: "VANM_ADE9_je.BGL", "VANM_ADE9_je_APN.BGL", "VANM_ADE9_je_APR.BGL", and "VANM_ADE9_je_TXN.bgl". I re-compiled ONLY the BGL files, I did not re-compile the XML files of the same names as when I tried to, it would just become BGL files. Inside je and APR is pretty much nothing or just very little objects. Inside APN is the taxiway and runway layouts of the airport. Inside TXN is the taxiway and runway paths for ai planes. I also did not re-compile the SGN and OBG files. Next, I re-exported the 3d object files by using MCX (Model Converter X) Version v1.8.2025.1221 and converted almost every BGL files, except these two: EXC_OBJ.bgl and EXC_TER.bgl . I then converted many of the textures from BMP to DDS, but it isn't that important to what I am experiencing. After doing all of this, I launched FSX, spawned in Navi Mumbai, and I see that the airport is not stable. It is very hilly, similar to the first time I opened the airport the first time. Here are the screenshots:

The taxiway and runway layout is missing, the sign and other objects are missing, the terminal is both clipping under the ground and floating on the ground on some parts, the fire station is flat-out levitating, and it is just a mess. Is there a way to fix this? Do I need to convert any more files? Do I need to adjust the altitude on some objects? I added the download link there in-case someone wants to take a closer look. I have converted sceneries from P3D to FSX before any experience almost no problems at all. But every time I try to export an FS2004 scenery to FSX, I always experience problems. Please could someone help me out? Thanks!
