How to keep objects from changed airport?

I have found that when changeing ("improving") a freeware airport that might have nice buildings and apron lights and other details, these can't be saved with my new ADE-airport because they disappear as soon as I stow away the original freeware airport to avoid double scenery features. Is there a way to keep the original (NB not the stock/default airport) freeware airport scenery objects if theyre a part of the .bgl-file?

One way is to load the file into ModelConverterX (if it will load, not all will) and save the objects as MDL files. Then add back the MDL files to your ADE airport by adding them as 3D Objects and placing them into their proper positions. Some BGL decompilers will also save the MDL files.

The simplest way is to use Library Creator XML from this web site. It will add your MDL files and create a library BGL file.
