I am new to scenery design and appreciate any help. I am making a simple hangar and would like to make my own PBR textures for it. Was this texture made from a photo or do you think it was hand drawn? I know there are textures of steel siding but I want to add windows, hoses etc. Can you lead me in the right direction. Sorry if a noob ? but I am just getting started. thanks

With PBR majority of the details that you want to include must be done in geometry first, assigned needed materials and then textured. The texture above can't be used for PBR as is, the result will be very weird.

Thanks. I guess before I even ask about PBR the question is do you think this was a picture or hand painted? I worry about PBR later.

I think it is a bunch of photos/textures combined in photoshop with hand-drawn effects.

Yes I think your correct. A combination of picture and hand drawn. Looks like it was a lot of work.
Yes, but again, with PBR all the hard work of shadowing/AO etc. is done automatically. The difference being you put more work to the 3d model itself. The textures above can be produced by baking the PBR textured model onto a texture sheet.

So actually it will be easier since I dont have to shadow, etc. I do understand PBR. Now its a matter of learning how to texture well with blender. I think I understand bake. I have the plug in. You can texture multiple surfaces and then bake to one UV?
