• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

How to save my used objects on my scenery

Hello guys,

I have edited a small airport in Cayman with some stock objects in the sim and from a couple of models library I got from flightism.to. (Like construction cranes, animated people etc.)

The problem is, I realized that if the folder where the objects are contained get changed (name etc.) I lose it on my SDK project and it changes to "unknown". Is there a way an object can be copied as a stand alone for the scenery rather than having it linked to the folder it was used from?

Hope it makes sense!

Unless you have permission to actually copy the models to your own project (rather than reference them as a placement), what you propose is a copyright violation. You can ask the owner of the library addon for permission to copy his models, or for permission to re-distribute his package.

Hello,

Sorry, I'm not distributing anything I'm just updating the airfield for my own used and the objects I have used are free to use and upload it to flightsim.to as an example below.

But I realized how it works in case I ever want to share it as a freeware on flightsim.to I can just put the package of library object as a requirement for the scenery.

Then just save the 3rd party Library package on your harddrive in a safe location, so you can re-add it to your Community folder if there is a problem in the future.
