• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Improper ground texture alignment with mesh.

I just installed a custom mesh file but I am having trouble with the ground textures from sbuilder x, they appear to be badly aligned. I was curious if anyone knew of a method to move either the mesh or the photo scenery in order for it to align better.

I have included pictures to demonstrate the issue. The first pic is from google earth which is properly aligned. You can clearly see the road going between the 2 mountains. The second demonstrates what I get in FSX from a similar perspective. You can see the the road is the the left and the business locale is south of its proper location.

I clearly need to move mesh or background, I just need to know which is the better way to do that. According to the airport diagram, the photoscenery is in its proper location, the issue is with the terrain mesh, however, I have no idea how to move the terrain mesh. :banghead:

Sbuilder X can flatten areas as well as raise areas by setting the terrain with higher elevation. i have not used this program in a while. As you create an area with a custom pattern using so many corners, you can edit the elevation of each corner to create a mountain. you can stack smaller regions on top of larger patterns to create a peak for your mountain.

Like i said it's been a while since I used SBuilder X...

Always is good to explain how you fixed things, though it be a silly thing, maybe someone have the same problem than you.
