• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

With this "Dune flying Stuff"" is Microsoft going to reapeat its failed "Flight"? Gamy flying trough Hoops???? how ridiculous can you get with this stuff??? Maybe they want 8 and 9 year olds to come and play!!!!

Playing punch tape Lunar Lander and Star Trek on a teletype through a 640 baud modem dialed in to a timeshare account on the Lawrence Livermore mainframe in 1974, such a thing would be a literal dream come true. I have zero interest experiencing someone else's idea of a fantasy realization.

I think Asobo had some Dune fans, and liked a tie-in to the movie release. It's about XBOX sales. Gotta make money...

How does one vehicle and some minimum-effort missions have anything to with Flight, which was just a money grab project, reeking of desperation?

While I don't particularly care about the content myself, millions of people saw the movie, thought the ornithopters were super cool and would love to experience them in a game. The effort from Asobo maybe took 5-6 people a few months. It's no worse than the Pelican from Halo or the Top Gun stuff. Everyone survived that. No one's forcing you to install it or play it. The load screen that has everyone in tears will be gone with SU15 and you can get on with your lives.

As long as these product tie-ins aren't slowing down bug fixing and real feature development / improvement, then it's no big deal... I'd prefer less of it, but it doesn't bother me either.

We already know that MSFS2024 will have more 'game' features, but I would hope that we also get more sim. Both game and sim have their supporters, and so far Asobo have done a great job keeping both happy. Yes, I know some people grizzle about every little thing, and always will, but I just tune out most of that.

they showed a bunch of real flying jobs as missions... I guess real ag and water bomber pilots consider their work a game. ;)

I'm just hoping for better perf, better terrain, better multiplayer and hopefully a better platform to get some of the features we're missing in 2020. If they support some game features ( not at the cost to sim features ), so be it. You have to give them some credit for increasing the entire flight genre market by 10x.
