• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Not sure if you refer to just the taxilines ground markings? I work in Maya for those. I think blender can do just as well as a free option.

Needs MCX to get them into the sim, as ground polygons.

Seems to be a server issue. My provider are looking at it and it may take 48 hours. Will update here or try again in a few days.

Been having fun adding PBR to the ground and other things, but V1.1 will remain the current one for a month or two yet I guess.

Well thanks. Been spending alot of time last few weeks tinkering with PBR on the gorund, to see if it is worth it. Have concluded it is. Should have an update soon.

Nice GP but the reflection on the taxiways isn’t good

Most of the time it is not there really, just at extreme sun angles. Watch some youtube vids of landing at KBUR. The sun glare from the painted edges and lines is extreme. Ashpahlt can get whited out by sun glare.

As my art teacher always said, 'paint what you see'.

This is really looking very nice at this point. That CVX patch for Orbx users definitely does the trick of getting rid of LC conflicts. Can't help but think about how intrusive some of Orbx's products are, as much as I love them.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but, after installing the scenery as stated by the read me the scenery buildings is sunk into the ground with only the very top of the control tower sticking out of the ground, with the airport grounds appearing to be raised up above the ground causing fallthroughs in certain spots of the airport.

Couple things to check.

Do you have the small elevation correction file KBUR_ADEP4_MDM_ALT.bgl placed in root P3d folder/scenery/world/scenery

Do you have orbx vector? If yes, you need to disable the elevation correction with their tool. If is in p3d folder/orbx/ftx_vector/ configuration tool. Search for KBUR or run auto configuration

Not sure if UTX has a KBUR elevation correction. Make sure it is above UTX entries.

If those fail, it is normally an errant airport file. Search your folders for 'kbur' and see what comes up not in this scenery folder.

Sorry for the extremely late reply, but even after attempting a fresh reinstall, and with the correction file in place, my KBUR still has almost all buildings below ground level, and the ground between taxiways being fallthroughs, I don't know what's wrong but I do not use Orbx Vector.

That's puzzling.

Do you have other orbx sceneries, like North America? I don't think they have elevation issues but I can look at it.

Next few days I'll download the actual uploaded pack and do an install into default P3d I keep, just to check. Trying to figure what else can cause elevation issues beyond OrbX. You don't add lots of updated afcad files when you setup P3d? You could try Simple Airport Scanner to find duplicates. https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/simple-airport-scanner-1-70-beta.440300/

The only other ORBX Scenery I do have in the US is the Orbx Portland Cityscape, I do use updated AFCADS but I have yet to install any regarding KBUR at this point.

Can we rule out the basics first.

Deactivate KBUR scenery in library.
Remove KBUR_ADEP4_MDM_ALT.bgl from P3D root...scenery/world/scenery (drag it to the desktop is quickest)

Fire up P3D and is default KBUR working as expected?

If yes, while at KBUR you can go to scenery library in the options menu and reactivate KBUR. The KBUR_ADEP4_MDM_ALT.bgl file will not be present in scenery/world/scenery. You should have a working airport, but surrounding autogen buildings will be up in the air. At least this is what I get on a default P3D setup.

If that works, try shutting down P3D, put KBUR_ADEP4_MDM_ALT.bgl back into scenery/world/scenery and go back to KBUR. If troubles still exist, maybe some screenshots will help me understand.

My home airport! Worked there for over 6 years for the airlines. This scenery is looking fantastic and can't wait for the update!

Hi Major, I have started the process of adding detail and generally improving the terminal. Conventrating on terminal A area first.

Your pics are proving invaluable. Would you be able to get front and side of the structure in pic below? I am adding the pipework to exterior and it is linked into a second set of pipes. Is it electric or air system?
View attachment 47177

Any other pics of any sort airside of terminal always welcome.
Sorry for a very late reply. I've been so busy with life and just got a job with southwest. yes ill will get more pictures of the terminal. is there anything in particular that you would need so i can get those for you.

Hi Major, good to hear from you again.
Any/many pics of the airside walls of the terminal, to help ID stuck on detail like pipework. Close ups of signboards, like the box over each door. The golden rule. You can never have enough pics.
For each parking spot there is a yellow device against the wall. I assume to attach air. Closeups of one of those would be good. Makes a nice metal PBR feature.

I went away too. Life. Slowly getting back into it. No developers licence at the moment and the MSFS2020 news put me off renewing, but already bored of waiting now. I am sure the stock depiction of KBUR in MSFS won't be brilliant. People are expecting a magic wand waving over every airport reproducing close up detailed terminals off aerial pics from bing. Hmmm.
