• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

This is KDAY - Dayton Ohio, I have been working on this for some time now, still have a long way to go. Just wondering what you all think so far. Thanks!

This looks great - there are still so many US-airports missing. Are you planning on using custom textures for Apron and Runway? For me this is one of the most important aspects.

Keep up the work and dont forget to update us :D

regards, chris

Nicely done! Your custom apron and taxiway textures are looking very good, as are your buildings. Keep us posted and don't give up. I'm about to start my own project and seeing other's work is encouraging. I like that you're doing a regional airport. We really need more of those.

I am having some trouble figuring out exactly how to do the runway and taxiway custom textures. Ive read everything i could find about it, but just cant seem to figure it out. any help here would be awsome!!!:):):)

Ive found and have the textures i would like to use but applying them has proved a problem. Im just sortof figuring out how to use GMAX, and i suppose that would be the program to use?

THANKS

Looks magnificent! This is really encouraging as well for me; I just got started in using photo real textures and am still learning how. If you don't mind me asking, how did you get yours to be so crisp?

Looking good!

That's a big airport there, lots of ground poly work..

Nice start so far look forward to seeing your progress.

....A little bit more....

I have been very busy lately sorry I didnt get back to you guys who commented, but heres the latest shots...got the roads around the terminal a little bit more crisp, finished apron and parking, fixed some taxiway issues...

I would still love to figure out how exactly to do the custom ground polys, but Im kinda at a standstill on it. Any advice would be welcome!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks!

You need to do ground poly with satellite image. And put it over the layer that you have already made. So it will be less pattern.
I normally use satellite image and cut just the part that I need to overlay on taxiway, runway and apron. You don't need very high resolution. I turn those image into black and white and make another alpha channel with that picture (ctrl-A and ctrl-C) and put the whole picture to alpha channel. Then I revert it. So the black on photo become more visible than the white one.
You can try that with your apron first and see how it looks. You will like what you have done.

any update on this project? KDAY is my home and my Job as I work with AA here. Would love to see the finished version soon. Also willing to help out as I do work at the station and can provide feedback on things
