• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

After crashing my (Steam) projects a number of times I don't care to mention... here's my old P3D4 models at ENCN. A thank you to Scruffyduck, Rhumbaflappy and Arno I should say. I restarted this airport so far 30 times I think. What else is new?

I have no idea about Blender nor X-Plane. I still use gmax (restarted that damned thing today in order to build mesh to get rid of transparency problems).. ;) models via McX... old scool.

After pestering Arno and others in this forum, a night scene. Thanks for your tips... without you I'm blind.

It's a struggle, but no more alpha based railings and window frames for me, ever. Rebuilt all this with mesh, only the windows themselves are alpha, and exporting from gmax I have to "lure" it to work by keeping my dds for a while before going MSFS glTF/PNG with McX, shortly described. This will be shared, but not before I can fix the afcad.

How did you go about creating the ground markings? I am finding getting the resolution correct and not reversed... troublesome

Your airport looks really good, I will just suggest you to lower the opacity of the apron markings, they look artificial..

Cheers

Hell I woukd be happy to get such clean lines. Correct terrain line markings and resolution still evade me!

You are correct about this, but I can't find a way to make a custom texture for HatchedArea, where only "Slim Red" is the option, and no option for alternative, as with PaintedLines.

Regarding (Pain)ted lines - yes a painful day. I managed to make my own painted line, like "red very worn". I also discovered if I had the same name for the material lib as I had in another scenery, I lost all Hatched Areas at ENCN. So as for my 3D model lib, "cn_modelLib", I also had to name my ground lib like "cn_materials".

After all that, I decided to delete the zebra red hatched areas, and revert a few years back for now regarding markings, and I think the result is all good. I'll mix myself a drink now, after still tons of frustration. :stirthepo

Looks better now, I'm not sure if you can give the line a transparency, but if you can, do it a little bit :)

Cheers

I can in time, and will do. For now I will upload what you see here, plus a new gmax glideslope antenna mast, a corrected terminal 2 (my old was way off due to lack of aerial pics). The hard facts are those markings are more or like invisible for real, seen with my own eyes being a passenger walking those aprons twice each month.
