• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

So I've been sucked into this world to fix a problem. In this particular case almost all of the parameters on the 'library card' were wrong, but I tracked most of them down to the aircraft.cfg and the flight_model.cfg file. The one I can't find is the 'Endurance' figure - it's currently set at a ridiculous 28 hours. Does MSFS calculate this somehow and if so, from what? I've looked through all of the .cfg files and there's no obvious answer.

I believe endurance is intended to inform how long a pilot can expect to fly. I can say that the figure does change between user vehicles and I believe the sim calculates it based off of cruise speed, fuel load and possibly weather, as well.

Jeez... this one would be out of fuel long before then. Seventeen hours is its maximum range. Although I didn't originate this project, the fuel load and fuel burn in the .cfg files are correct for those seventeen hours.

I believe this is the value you want to change, that "-1" is the default and MSFS will insert it's own value, but otherwise display any value set. I've never futzed with it.

I'll give that a try. Thank you.

Edit: yep, that was it. Whoever did the cfg file calculated a no-load, from-full-to-the-very-last-drop range. Oh, no aircrew either. That was the only way I could get the numbers to give me 28 hours from max fuel vs fuel burn.
