Since a couple of days, I'm trying to create good 3D runway lights using LOD's+mipmaps, thanks to a help in another thread. I've learned how to switch the mipmaps to get a good result, but I'm struggling understanding LOD's.
My problems with LOD is the following: My LOD never switches from the first one. I mean, if I have LOD 100 and LOD 50, the LOD 50 will never show up in the sim, same if I have LOD 100 and LOD 90, or LOD 100 and LOD 99, or LOD 100 and LOD5, no matter what numbers, I always see the first one("bigger"). Sure I'm missing something, it's strange how I expected them to switch as I get far from the model(my lights).
Maybe someone can give me a hint. For what I searched people had similar problems, but most times they were searching for a rule while using LOD's, in my case is just that... it didn't change in the sim. It's like having just one LOD.
I'm doing the following: Creating my main model, creating various .mdl files with different sizes/lengths, then importing in MCX and using the Generate LODs tool for importing my LODs and setting the value of each one.
Thank you
