How about a version of FSX in Mac format so we can play it on Apple computers. Having 32 Gigs of RAM in the G5 Mac Pro Tower would make FSX a easier program to manage and fly in that sort of environment.
Well, there is always X-Plane and FlightGear . . . though I admit I find neither of these to be as immersive as FSX. But, over time they have continued to make steady progress and improvements to both of these simulators. If you're stuck with Linux or Mac OS X, they are very good alternatives. When I travel, I take X-Plane 9 and a Logitech Wingman USB game controller with me so I can enjoy flight-simulation on my MacBook Pro wherever I go. I have way too many add-ons and equipment that I use for FSX, to even consider taking a Windows machine with me.
I dream of a decent, full featured, FSX Multiplayer SERVER, that can run in the backgound on Linux ( or Windows ).
Even better if those Linux/windows machines could Network, and share in one big MP session.
Basically FS"X"HOST for FSX, running in FSX MP mode.
We would have that "FOR SURE" now, if there had been a FSX MP SDK ( as there was for previous versions of MSFS)
Unfortunately, MS/ACES opted to license the GameSpy Lobby engine for FSX rather than develop their own in-house coded system. This essentially means that they cannot provide an API for the system because they don't own it!
BTW, they are fully aware now that this was one of the poorest decisions that was made and won't repeat it, choosing instead presumably to make different mistakes in the future. At least that way they'll have a chance to fix it if need be!

I am really impressed with the simplicity and ease of use, and also and mainly, adaptability of the programs and system of OSX. I was already running with the ball on day 2 and now I have memorized most of the shortcut keys for high speed manuvering through the OS.
In a button click, the system shuts down and boots up in WinXP, which is what I wanted and needed for months, but couldnt find a rig that featured it. XP loaded straight into the Apple in 'Boot Camp', which is the alternative OS system for it.
By the way, apparently Linux users are purchasers of Macs as well. They use LInux as the secondary OS on them through Boot Camp as well.
The gaming firm that produces Call of Duty has come out with a Mac version this year of their newest release COD5 (Call of Duty 5, World at War). I think that shows you the market content of Mac. (I have it in PC version 'already' and it runs in Mac good).
Parts seem inexpensive. I upgraded the RAM to 4 Gigs for only $49.00. I found a 1 TB HD at Frys Electronics for $99.00 by SeaGate and had that installed over the 320 GIg it came with. I then set up a dual mini HD drive box as exterior drives (one for all FS main files, 1 TB in size, and another for Mac 'Time Machine', a system backup that uses alternate HD's).
So, LHC is now running Mac and smoothly humming along.
I am still running Gmax, DXTBmp, FS9, FSX in WinXP mode, but hope to see if I can change that soon through use of either 'Cross Over' or 'Wine', (programs for running PC based programs in Mac mode).
Also, this is the first time that I have been able to fly smoothly in FSX. All the other 'new' computers I had in the past (2 hp media centers, purchased mainly for FSX), ran it like thick syrup. The iMac runs it quite smooth. Not at full sliders mind you. But I now have ground cars in traffic (AI) and I have GA AI planes at 100% and it did nothing to the frame rates. :d
Just my .015 worth... I have run FS2k4 on my old Mac with emulation software. And it ran better on my crappy 1.8ghz powermac than it ever ran on my 2.8ghz pc, even under the emulator. I imagine in a g5, fsx would smoke most pc's even under the emulator.
