Mcx and Mixamo animation

Good day Arno;
I run some tests with the latest mcx release; using mixamo animated characters; they fine if not loaded into mcx and saved again.
What happen if they are loaded into mcx even without any modification; saved; the compiler hang at the point it compile the gltf part; and there it stay.
An example of file is from Rhumbaflappy here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WVBqv0PpCzqTmKQYJyfv1-eqJ5BAhlw4/view

Also if the lod is added and saved the compile do hang at the point it compile the first LOD00 gltf; basically something stop the files being compiled after being saved with mcx.
There are ways around it; but i wonder why this happen ? As it would be very useful to manipulate these kind of files in mcx in case of need. This is the MSFS 2024 sdk; I did not test in 2020.

for your time

Hi,

Do you mean that the MSFS packager tool has issues with the glTF files that ModelConverterX made? Do you get any warnings or errors in the log?

I am not really familiar with packiging something else than scenery projects, so I must say I never tried a SimObject like this.

Yes; if you save the gltf after download the mixamo fbx and converter with fbx2gltf; load the gltf into mcx and save it; sdk hang at the point it compile the gltf part; it just hang; no error showed.

OK, I'll see if I can reproduce it.

Hi,

I can reproduce the issue here. Now let me check what is different from other skin and bone animated models that don't have this issue.

I have done some analysis yesterday, but I don't fully understand it yet.

When I export the model the package tool gets stuck. If I remove all bones from the object it does export fine (in that case it still includes the weights to the model parts). If I remove the shirt and arms/legs modelparts I can export the entire model with all bones included.

So it seems there is some interaction between specific bones and specific model parts here. But I don't see any weird data yet.

Hi Arno;
is quite strange; as Mcx work with all other kind of rigged / animated objects; this is the only instance I come across. Having said all that; the first model I have converted; from Mixamo; I did use Mcx; and after push and pull; it did worked; I have to try to reproduce the steps and let you know. However; If i remember correctly the original model was from a different source; directly from ai; than the Rhumbaflappy model; I have to try to reproduce the steps and come back here if I find anything of help. My suspect is on the original model position / structure rather than anything else.
