• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MCX Queries to Creating Seasonal Models

Hi all. Two queries I have:
1) Just wondered if there is an MCX setting where I can permanently configure the Seasons menu to include hard winter. Currently I have to redefine the menu on every seasonal model I create.
and
2) When selecting to merge the SU Model with the other season models, the "Merge from Below" list (from the BGL list of models) would be great if it listed the models in alphabetical order. At present the list seems to be at random and the menu is not scaleable which makes the facility unuseable - have to use the Load Model option which is more tedious.
Not meaning to be picky - just observations on how MCX could possibly be made even better!

Hi,

I thought you could configure the default season settings, but I need to double check.

About the merging, why are you doing it from a library bgl? Most developers would have their models as mdl files or so.

Or are you using models made by others? In that case be aware you can't distribute your scenery with others.

Hi Arno. I am using the ORBX HD,/Terra Flora Trees BGL files to make the seasonal trees. If the BGL file was in alpha order it would save having first to export the 5 seasonal models and then import them. If it were easy to select from the bgl list, the seasonal creation could all be done in the bgl file and then only one export. As I say, it would be a "nice to have" but no big issue.

Hi,

I checked, the default season settings are hardcoded at the moment. I have added it to the wish list to make them configurable.
