FS2004 "Milan VFR 2010" December preview

Hi to all!
Work on this scenery is going quite fast, we have now completed more then 20 detailed buildings, and we have started with general Urban development (low and mid rise buildings).
2 of the 6 planned Helipads are completed and operative, with night lights and Afcad to allow pilots to select helipad from Flight simulator interface.
We have started also intensive testing, on different platforms to test FPS impact, and at the moment we don't have any issue.

then a couple of views from Gmax, we have alredy tested this buildings, but these are new so are not included in the slideshow.

This is my last update for this month, now I'm going to reach my parents for Christmas holidays (snow permitting... ) so.... see you in 2010!! Merry Christmas and Happy new Year to all FsDeveloper forumers!!!!

Hi folks! last day of the year 2009 with a nice update, CityLife, one of the best urban development in Milan is almost done, gmax models are 90% complete, next step is the texturing process, but well we will do it the next year


a couple of screens for you:

This tower is 220meters tall, and will be the highest in Milan, as well the highest in Italy, designed by Arata Isozaki


Next one is the nicest in my opinion, called "Il Curvo" designed by Daniel Libeskind, 160 meters tall.

Big update, in the last 10 days we add the 2 biggest projects under construction in Milan, "CityLife" and "Porta Nuova" a mix of 6 skyscraper that will change Milan skyline in the next 3-4 years.

and they are very complex to draw in gmax....

Just a little update, after some troubles due the switch from Windows Server 2003 to Windows 7.... we are now developing the general urban landscape, now we are focused on the entire CBD.

Here a super-pano image from the sim, on the left you can see the new part "Vittor Pisani avenue" during the texturing process

We are at the moment a little busy due other works and university degree, but I will try to keep updated this thread as much as possible hope you understand

Looks beautiful! Will make an awesome approach to Milano Linate!!! Now if only we could get updated airports in the region. You really should try your hand at airport design after this Andrea!

HOT news friends, is TERRAIN time

Is just an early (very EARLY) preview about how will look the ground of our scenery, at the moment is only half the quality expected to be when finished, and buildings are misplaced in some cases.
We are using this mid-quality ground, exactly to be able to place all the buildings in their position, and for Frame Rates testing purposes .

Milan Fair (the biggest in the world ) place of the Milan Expo 2015

FPS in this test with default Cessna, AA 6x AF 16x 1680x1050 keeps always at 34.8-34.9 (we have locked it at 35) next time we will test it without the locked setting, but still a great result at the moment

Still a BIG work in progress, but i can assure there are a lot of progress since the last time Central Station, texture progress, another CBD in the north sector, 3rd city heliport started, ground texture in progress (you can see it near the CBD) general improvements in texturing process

Hi all! I know is a long time from the last update, but the project is not dead, it is just.... slow.... Work has taken all my time, but slowly I'm trying to have it back

But... well some images are better than thousand words

Ground poly as increased to 90 sectors, each one is a 256x256 bmp image and 214x214 meters I estimate at least 450 sectors to cover the whole city...

On the building side not a lot has changed since last year, these are the last addition, it is called "varesine" area, located in downtown:

That's all for tonight, hope to continue on this project constantly in the next months.
