• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Build 2624 Missing Runway Elements

Jon, thanks for all your efforts in producing SDE.

I was about to report a couple of bugs in then previous version when I noticed this post. Unfortunately, the bug still exists in the new version as well.

It has to do with adding a displaced threshold to a runway. First, SDE does not "collect" all the displaced thresholds or VASI's from a FS9 AFCAD bgl. Then, when one attempts to add a displaced threshold with SDE, the generated XML is limited to:

"length="0.0M"
surface="CONCRETE"
/>"

i.e., no header or primary/secondary designator.

You may also be interested in a post I made earlier today regarding apron edge lighting. While SDE isn't the cause of my difficulties in tat regard, it may be the only solution.

Thanks for the information. Could you please email me, or post the BGL files which have the problem on displaced thresholds and Vasis. I have not had any reported problems with these before so I would like to understand what is happening.

I can confirm the bug on adding runway extensions - no End is definable. I will fix that in the next release.

Also I say your post on apron lights and responded there. I hope that the new release deals with the problem, but if it is not then please let me know.

Sorry, I was hasty in pushing the SEND button a moment ago.

The VASIs for Rwy 09 and 31 and the displaced threshold for Rwy 02don't seem to be picked up by SDE.
