• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Is it possible to get ModelConverter X v1.2 because 1.3 (stable and development) and higher doesn't seem to work on my computer due to Opengl issues. The achieves doesn't work, its gives me an http error page.. So can anyone find a link to download ModelConverter X v1.2 because I am trying to make a scenery.

I'll check, I think it should still be somewhere on the server.

But what kind of graphics card you have that it has so poor OpenGL support?

Arno, I have Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset (Microsoft Cooperation WDDM 1.1). I know its a poor graphics card, I will get a new computer sometime in future. However, please do find me a link for modelconverter x 1.2. Thank you

What's your OS? On Google I see multiple hit when I Google for OpenGL support of this card. So it might be possible.

MCX 1.2 and 1.3 require the same OpenGL version by the way. Only 1.4 requires the higher OpenGL 2.0 support.

That explains why my laptop can't display the mdl once I upgraded to windows 10. Arno, question can MCX be made to work on either OpenGL or Directx similar to gmax or 3dmax? This would give us options. Just a thought.

I have no intention to learn Direct besides OpenGL, so the tool will remain OpenGL based.

Honestly the requirement to have OpenGL 1.1 for the simple preview mode and OpenGL 2.0 for the advanced mode is so low that any reasonable video card made in the last 10 years supports it.

Thanks Arno for sending me the link. My OS is Windows 8.1

Hello:

I also had some issues with OpenGL driver support on a laptop under Windows 7 64-bit, and was pleased to find that in spring of 2015 Intel had finally posted updated drivers for my laptop chipset.

You may occasionally wish to see if your chipset has had any updated drivers made available for your laptop via the Intel website:

...or via a 3rd party modified driver:

Hope this helps ! :)
