• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

I tried using the Move Airport tool but the only thing that changes is the airport Lat/Long. What am I doing wrong?

I have the ProKey installed. I go to 'Tools' and select 'Move Airport'. The dialog box comes up and I enter the new Lat/Long. ADE does a calculation because the Distance and Bearing fields are populated. Airport, Scenery Objects, Guideline and GP Objects are selected (by default). I then click on move.

The end result is that only the Airport is moved, no other objects get moved.

Just because I was trying everything I could think of, I opened the airport in ADE 165, went through the same steps and everything moved as expected.

Now, if I can just figure out why my Ground Polys are not compiling correctly, I will be very happy!

OK - but it should not be necessary to go back to ADE 1.65 What version did you originally use and please zip up the ADE project and attach it to a post here

I ended up renaming my ADE installation and reinstalling ADE 178 and the move function is now working as it should. I was hoping it would also resolve the issue I an having with the ground polys, but it did not. I believe it might have something to do with the ground poly BGL file for the airport. I had an older BGL file that everything lined up correctly, but the texture wasn't applied, so they just showed up as black lines.

I had an older copy of the ground poly BGL in a sub directory in the FSX Addon (..\addon\L05), the lines aligned correctly but they showed up as black. The newer BGL was in the ..\Addon\scenery directory and the lines showed up yellow as expected, but the alignment is off. As you can see, they both showed up in FSX. I removed the BGL in the ..\Addon\L05 directory and the black lines have gone away. Attached below is also the ground poly BGL that has the correct alignment but the textures don't show up. It's interesting to note that the BGL with the correct alignment has all of the GPs as a single object. The BGL where the lines display correctly but are NOT aligned properly has each GP as a separate object in the BGL.
