• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Naming Parking Spaces

Is there a way to name the parking spaces other than with just a number. I.E. Parking space K12 rather than 12.

Thanks Glenn
I think the only way to get a letter in there is by choosing one of the Gate values (*gate_A through gate_Z*)...
I would agree with that. I think the values are in a controlled range and others cannot be used without the compiler complaining

As stated above, when I need a gate K12 I use Gate K, number 12.

Hope this helps,
The only thing you have to remember is that the lettered gates have second priority in AI aircraft parking, vs the pure GATE without a letter. That means that (all other things being equal), a given plane will park at GATE 5, before parking at GATE K 5. If I use lettered gates at an airport, I avoid all unlettered gates for just that reason.

Hope this helps,
At this point MS could have a change of heart, but the MS bloggers (back when FSX was being worked on) said that the ATC and AI systems were considered to be "obsolete" and would not have any improvements, unless it was required by some other new feature. That's why FSX AI and ATC are almost the same as in FS9. Yes, they did change a few things, but no enhancements that we really wanted. They said that multiplayer has replaced that system.

So if they still feel the same way (and I see no reason why they shouldn't), FS11 will not have any ATC/AI improvements either...
