• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi I hope you guys can help me on this! I got 2 questions thanks. I noticed that the ai traffic won't move from a hold short position. They evenually deleted after a while. I looked in FSX Planner and counldn't see a problem. What would the reason be from that? And how would I fix it, thanks Don.

How far from the runway is the hold short? Is the hold short connected to the runway link?

The hold short is close to the runway. Everything looks fine. Is it possible I'm not compiling properly and I'm seeing no changes? Don.

Well that I can't say. Just to confirm that AI aircraft are taxing to the runway but not getting clearance to take off?

How about aircraft landing?

Is this a stock airport that you have modified or something else?

What changes have you made? Does AI traffic work on the original airport (unless of course it is a new one you created)

I'm not really an expert on AI traffic but there have been quite a few previous threads on this subject.

Sorry I should explain better, it's Dublin Intl on FSX. AI traffic taxing on taxiway E1 and holding short at R34 to take off on R28. AI landing ok on R28. I can hear traffic getting ok to move onto R28 and hold but they ain't moving!!

Can I ask about compile also. File compiling ok but I can't see it in Add-on scenery in FSX. Copy of BGL and XML files going into SDK compiler folder and the same into Add-on/Scenery folder in FSX. Is that right? Don.

for the avoidance of doubt - Addon Scenery\scenery is the folder for compiled bgl files.

Is FSX running when you add those files? When you startFSX does an updating scenery database message come up at all?

And your blg file is in Addon Scenery\scenery?

As a test - add something obvious to the airport that you can identify. Now compile it and start FSX. See if whatever you added is at the airport. I suggest an apron.

Ok, I changed and moved a few things around. Compiled into Addon Scenery/scenery. Started FSX and saw update box show up. Looked in Dublin Addon scenery in FSX nothing there and no changes to it. I also looked in Addon Scenery/scenery and there are two bgl files there!! Dublin Intl EIDW.bgl and EIDW_ADE_FSX.BGL which one is correct?? Don

OK I can see why you may be getting no updates.

You have both the original and an update bgl file in the same folder. Try moving Dublin Intl EIDW.bgl to a folder outside your sim and restart FSX.

Nothing, I tryed it on Munich aswell because that has the same problem, it compiled and that hasn't worked either. Any other ideas??

I remember that problem in the stock airport.
All I did was move the hold short (Node 154) forward a few feet.

Because you posted in the FSX Planner forum. If you are using ADE then select the hold short node and drag it where you want to put it

OK - tell me what your interest is in airport design and why you need to move a hold short node. Is this a specific airport? is so what is the ICAO of that airport

So I’m at Dublin airport in Ireland and when the au planes have taxied to the runway they never get permission to take off they just sit there and then disappear after a while and the icao code is EIDW
