• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Help!!!

I am attempting to set my scales to 1.0 and my rigging is fighting me!

When I do modeling kpgamemods taught me to always keep my scaling to 1.0. You do this by highlighting the object and hit CTRL-A, and then choose SCALE.

My rigging is supposed to look like this.

But when I hit CTRL-A it transforms into this!

Help!!!!

How do I set my objects Scale to 1.0 without it going catty-wonkers???

Maybe this might help.....

After a little observation, I noticed how I might be able to circumnavigate this problem.

1.) I initially made my rigging cable from a six-sided cylinder, with a radius of 100mil.
2.) I moved the cable to it's proper location and set it.
3.) I then duplicated the cable (SHIFT-D) and placed that second cable in it's proper location.
4.) When scaling it to length, I would rotate it accordingly and then scale it. THIS action screwed up the 100mil thickness and I had to adjust the Y-axis if the cable.
***Somehow, this then started messing up my objects when I attempted to reset the scale.!***

I figured out how to work around this problem.....
1.) I created my object (and did not duplicate it from a previous object.
2.) I then set the one end in it's proper location and then rotated the cable at the angle I wanted it.
3.) WHEN SCALING, instead of hitting then [Z] (as I normally did), I then hit , [Z], [Z] changing the axis from global to local.

Now, when I hit ALT+A and rescale it, I have a happy object!

Thoughts? Comments?? Questions???

It's okay, there are questions about Gmax, Blender, 3dsMax and FSDS here, even Sketchup.

Oh, I thought you were using gMax. When it comes to Blender I know less than hairyspin. :p
