FSX Object animating via path from gmax into FSX

Hi there,

I'm new here.
I've started an animating project for LHNY scenery for FSX. I have made a box animated during a path, I exported to an mdl file. What is the next step to do? Need I make bgl from the mdl, or not? How can I put the animation into my FSX LHNY scenery?

Has anybody a step-by-step tutorial for it?

Thanks, in advance.

Hi,

I am not sure if I understand what the problem is. An animated object is inserted in a scenery just like any other object. So you would have to put it in a library and place it at the desired location.

Path-constrained animations don't work in FS, you must Collapse the animation to keyframes in Gmax first (Motion panel, Trajectories tab, set start and ending time and number of intervals).

Hope this helps.

Hi,

I made the collaption, exported to .mdl, and what next? I'm beginner of this issue.

Thanks.

It's a Little more complex to explain in a few sentences. you need to add the animations tags in the SDK tools, export checking the "export animation" box, once exported you need to use this command line in the Windows console. XtoMdl /XANIM /DICT:..\..\bin\modeldef.xml /XMLSAMPLE
animationtest.x
And hope the animations work.
Look for this concepts. "exporting animations" animations command lines. or something so.

Many thanks, I succeeded it!

A box goes around the airport - looping.
How can I add a condition to start the animation? - not looping.

The CAT software?

Thanks.

CAT can add a condition indeed, but only when the mdl is made with the fs2004 gamepack. For fsx mdl files it is not possible.

Thanks,

I made also a short animation (600 frames) for fs2004 with fs2004 gamepacks, I collapsed the animation, exported, I have now an mdl , xml, asm files, I made bgl from mdl, put the Addon Scenery / scenery folder, it appears in the fs2004 at the proper place, but not moving... help...

Thanks.

Hi Arno,

I need a Mercedes, or Audi low poly model for my animation, but I can't find to download anywhere...
