• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello,

Im very new to this so let me explain it as simplest as I can so that you guys could understand me.

So I made a airport in airport design editor with one runway, when I compile it everything is working how it should be runway, taxiway objects are being shown without no problems. So I thought to make it better I could go one step forward and add a nice photo real to it. The way I do the photoreal is in Sketchup and i import it to model converter x. I have no problems it all works perfectly HOWEVER, when i decide to compile the ground polygon because my photo real is done via the ground polygon method (video tutorial I followed) it all works perfectly but when I come to look at the ground it only has the photo real and not the taxi and runway as well as the objects I have done in ADE, I was wondering cause I am very fresh to this topic I saw some stuff regarding Z-bias ? could it be related? my textures are set to -1 z-bias in MCX.

I have attached two pictures

one is when I delete the BGL that has been compiled by MCX with the ground polygon and the other showing what i want to overlay the ground polygon. thank you for reading my explanation, forgive me for anything that I wrote wrong, thank you.

Hi,

It's normal that ground polygons cover the runways and taxiways made with ADE, that's how the scenery engine works. If you want the photo below you should use resample to place it.

Would you be able to demonstrate how I will be doing resample to place it or navigate me to the correct direction?

That's not a thing that MCX can do, I believe you use SBuilderX to create photo scenery that lies underneath your runways and taxiways? But there might be other tools for P3D.

SBuilderX can indeed be used to create them. Or if you have geo referenced images you can use the SDK tools directly.

My first intention was to make a ground polygon on top of the photo real it worked but I had few issues with flickering so I thought if I create runways in the ADE program it will be better for me.
