• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D academic license

It seems P3d is using the "student" moniker to allow resale of FSX. I'm curious what improvemets it offers over buying a deluxe copy of FSX.

Well the benefits to developers are there.....its far more dev friendly. And it is apparantly considerably more frame friendly than FSX....

Don't forget what Lockheed Martin states:

To see which version of Prepar3D® is right for you, please reference the chart below. As provided in our End User License Agreement, the Prepar3D application is not to be used, offered, sold or distributed through markets or channels for use as a personal/consumer entertainment product.
http://www.prepar3d.com/prepar3d-license-comparison/

That link also states that only the Developers Licence permits software development!

Thanks MGH for the above link regarding the license guidelines.

This forum is a place to discuss developer issues with Prepare3d... not legal issues.

If members are concerned about the ethics or the legality of interacting with Prepare3d, they would best discuss that with Lockheed-Martin directly ( and privately ).

As I stated above, it really is between each individual and Lockheed-Martin, and is no one else's business. This forum is not the place to discuss who can and can't...

Discussions that stray from development issues, or simple news links to Prepare3d will be subject to censure, locking, and even giving infractions if needed.

Regarding creating content for the academic version, from the original link:

With a free software development kit that accompanies the program, instructors can create customized academic lessons incorporating features such as people, wildlife, buildings, vehicles and weather.

Again... best to clarify this with Lockheed-Martin directly, if any member is truly concerned.
