• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

Hello! I was wondering, how could I create a water salute effect for my airport?

Let’s say I have a truck. Now I want to add the spray effect. How would I do that? Use the particle engine in p3d? Or make a custom video of a rendering of a spray.

Let’s say I chose option 2: video of the spray effect. Now, how can I apply a 2d video on an object?

Video? You can't apply video. However, you can do wonderful things (but only if you try hard ;)) using FSX/P3D particle effects. Simply load the "Visual Effects Tool" and experiment. There is quite a lot you can do with it.

Look at the water effects at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas for ideas. You can probably edit a copy of those?

Cut-n-paste all that text into an empty text file. Give it a name that will reflect what it is/does. Like fx_Water_salute.fx , for example.
Make sure the trailing file extension is .fx .
Make sure you only ever use NotePad or NotePad++. Never ever use a word processor! They add symbols you can't see but make the file unusable.

This way, you can add the effect to a truck you add to the scenery with the SODE tool.
