• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello!
Guys, please, if you know, tell me what settings I need to have to PBR material so the windows from the back not pass in front through the front windows.
I must mention that there are 2 materials. One for the front window and another for the back window respectively.
Thanks!!!

Hello, i'm not at home to better assist you but I cam tell you to do a search on "blue channel glass". The blue channel will be used within the metallic map.

Hi!
I found this - https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/t...-seen-through-opaque-faces.448391/post-851006
This is the case for the P3D V5 too, I guess? Because in Prepar3DPBR material I can't see any related settings.

No, that was for v4.5, which doesn't have a glass recipe for PBR. The OP had to use FSX style glass using the specular alpha.

For P3D v5.3, in the base color alpha set to translucent + using the metallic map.. The setting is part of the toolset. The location of it is under the P3D/FSX Material Params under the name of Renderr mode. Initially set to Opaque. Change it to Translucent.

Thank you @Pyscen , however I think you didn't understand me correctly... The thing is that I use how's intended the PBR materials. Albedo has alpha, metallic map has metallic, occlusion, smoothness and even reflectance in channels. The problem occurs when I set the material as double sided and transparency to Translucent - the back window shows through the front window. In legacy P3D material there where additional settings as Material alpha test for cases like this...

You might take a look at one of the aircraft glass - specifically the cockpit glass then. From within MCX, you should be able to determine what they did for double-side glass.

I don't think so. They must have separate models for cockpit and for airplane... Then why would you make a double side glass for cockpit?
