• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

"Point not connected to main graph" question

After SU7 in my project I have a whole lot of "Point not connected to main graph" errors which do not let me save my project in-sim. Before it worked perfectly fine. Whilst trying to delete all those faulty points I got a CTD arrghh! is there a way or a workaround to overcome this bug?

I had the same issue and then with the help of others was able to fix it. I used to be kinda lazy/not knowlegable enough about placing taxi parking spots and not creating a "Parking" path between the taxiway path and the parking spot. The program used to put up with this, but it appears it will do so no longer.

If your taxiways are not connected to each other and include hold points and runway paths then this has to be done. The reason, as I understand it, is that AI traffic has a tough time if it is not done. There are some good videos on Youtube if you are unsure on how to do this.
When you have done that then it is time to connnect your parking spots. Here is the method use.

First create a parking spot and do the usual number and name it. So lets say it is parking spot #1.
Then there needs to be a taxiway point passing by so if there is only the path you need to create a taxiway point by splitting the path near to where the parking spot is. Name that point P1 (because it is easier to find in the next step)
Then select the parking so it turns white, but have the taxiway point menu up so that with the parking spot #1 selected you can add (I check the small box for repeat selection next to add) a point from the parking spot. When you complete this (unselect the small add box) you should see a line eminating from the parking spot. Now merge the P1 with this new spot by holding ctrol right click the two spots.. they should both turn white, then right click and selct merge. You should have a line that goes from the taxipath to the parking and when you look at the type of path, it should be say "Parking" as opposed to Runway etc. Whe you do this you will see the error for that parking spot dissappear. congrats

You need to do this for every parking spot and save.

I too am having many CTD since the new version and everything takes twice as long to load.. frustrating as hell.

I concur with the above. Parking Spots need to be connected to the taxi network. At least you need a runway link down the center of the runway and then a link (taxi or path) or links connected from the parking spot to the runway

One problem down ?
Hopefully. But it seems there is no hotfix coming, as far as I can determine. We may have to wait for the next update. The DevMode is really messed up. They really need to concentrate on cleaning up the bugs for both developers and simmers before adding ANY new content or capabilities. Air races, Top Gun, alpha aircraft, and DirectX12 alpha are not wanted or needed at this stage. I know they are doing this to drive XBox content sales, but it hurts more than helps when alterations make the game nearly unplayable or un-developable.

We’ll just to top it off… in Dev Mode I was unable to link a new parking spot with a taxiway point at all. Whilst I could select the point, there was no possible way to select the parking spot as well to create the link. I tried moving the spot and space over on their own so as not on top of anything but no joy. So from my perspective, I cannot add new parking spots at all

Yep that's the "normal" process. Yesterday and today - I cannot ctrl-select the parking spot. Even if I "disable" everything else with the padlock except for those two objects - I cannot select the parking spot.
