• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

P3D v5 Prepar3d VC gauge transparency issue

Hi, since i changed last year (December) new GPU, from Geforce to Radeon since then i have some issues with VC gauges showing up.

I have tried to modify my 3d models VC transparency settings using MCX but not fixed this issue.

This issue became after i changed my geforce gpu to radeon card. Is there difference with transparency texturing with Nvidia and AMD cards?

What should i do to get my VC work and i can see gauges?

Do you need to update your video card driver?
I have latest, and this issue has been there since i first time installed radeon drivers last year. Before i installed my new gpu, i removed nvidia drivers using DDU.

Another idea, although I'm not confident that you would find anything is:

Have you looked on the Lockheed Martin Prepar3d forum?

Maybe there are others who have had a similar issue and with luck someone found a solution.

Thanks, i will check it out :)

My last idea:

Have you tried an Internet search for this problem?

Maybe even something as basic as: amd radeon prepar3d.

Or amd radeon prepar3d virtual cockpit transparency problem.

Good luck!

The only reported gauge visibility issue is related to FS2004 incompatibility and is sometimes solved by adding msvcr70.dll to the main directory. I'd expand your search to include FSX and use as few terms as possible, say "p3d radeon" for example. I've looked and there are very few hits so the trick will be casting as wide a net as possible while testing as many terms as could possibly relate. Also, this is the kind of behavior failing cards exhibit, untraceable strange rendering quirks. If it's a possibility, you can monitor temperatures and watch for the anomalies to gradually increase.
