• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Here is a preview of Library Creator XML 1.0. Compared to the current version of Library Creator XML there are some minor improvements, like a better way to compile the BGL files (using the same techniques as used in ObPlacer XML or CAT2).

The biggest improvements are the addition of some additional export features. These will allow you to create API or SCM macros for your library (like the XML2API tool I made also does, but now integrated in Library Creator XML). Two other export options are the ability to create a textfile using the SBuilder objects.txt format, so that you can add your objects easily in SBuilder or to create a Rwy12 XML file directly from Library Creator XML.

The last two new features are that I have added a form where you can enter the options, so you no longer need to edit the INI file manual. And finally I am also working on an auto update functionality, which will allow you to check for new releases.

Below are some screenshots of the current development version.

It looks fantastic Arno, an incremental improvement instead of a complete redesign. Adding the ability to create complete Rnwy 12 libs will make a difference in how many people use it although the only real advantage over your own Objectplacer XML is the ability to 'see' the objects before you place them. I myself would rather use Objectplacer XML just because you don't need an extra XML file to add the library before placement of the objects. Besides, I know what they look like anyway!
I think, in the end, that being able to add scasm encoded objects and API macros into a library is time limited. XML is definitely the way to go as you told me yourself in one of my earlier posts, and I have a feeling that FS10 probably won't support them anyway.

I fully agree there. The only thing Library Creator allow you is to make a API to call your Fs2004 style library object (so you can not add old style objects to the library). This is useful for people who have made some objects in GMax with the new gamepack and for the moment want to add them to their airport designed with the old tools.

The new version is now available. You can download it from this thread.

And yes, I promise that I will continue working on AniLinker now :mischievo
