• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

It is exactly that.
It offers unlimited possibilities.
You could create a simple 3D planar surface, and make it a web browser :D, play a movie, a complex gauge or anything you want you can do with Flash.
The included SDK setups for Scaleform makes the magic of reading the sim variables in Flash (and make Flash write them back ofcourse), and you can do ANYTHING you like...
Something that is very hard to do with common gauge programming like the PFD display fading to black when turned off, with Scaleform it's child's play.
I am very skillfull in Flash Actionscripting (while i do suck about standard P3D gauges programming :D ), so you can imagine my happiness when they implemented it.
I still don't understand why nobody knows it :)

The "web browser thing" rang a bell.

BTW, i am doing progressess with my CRJ rework. I just finished remodelling from scratch the autopilot panel.
Soon i will make a thread about it.

What tool are you working with?

If it's 3ds Max, and if you rework the entire cockpit (overhead and all), I might be interested in the source file for a FSX compliant model.

Websimconnect is a very interesting project. I want to learn more, thanks.
I am using 3ds max and i export the 3ds files i need. Then i import them in mcx and recompile the mdl. I use mcx couse i can just merge the new parts to the original cockpit. I do not have a real full source,i do not compile it with the 3ds max tools.
Anyways the whole thing is designed just for p3dv4. Fsx do not suppor Scaleform.

Yeah, I know that any Scaleform elements would have to be replaced. I'm just interested in any geometry, texture and functionality improvements anyway.

What version of 3ds Max? I work with 2015.

P.S: At one point, when replacing or adding geometry, MCX won't do anymore. So for maximum flexibility, you'd have to export the model as .obj (retains the material assignments and texture mapping) and import it into Max, then recreate the materials and animations. Tedious, but it's the only way to do more in depth modifications.

Hello,

Tonaz, have you some news about your interesting project ?
While browsing through LM's SDKs, as you I saw the incredible potential there was since LM added support for Autodesk Scaleform and Adobe Flash in its product.
I am particularly interested in these two functions because of their convincing effects on the cockpit windscreens.
Your images of the revamped CRJ have inspired me with enthusiasm and I wait some news about this astonishing project.
