• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Problem with stock airport revision

I am having some problems with a revision of the airport LOWI Innsbruck for FSX. Using the Stock FSX airport I have saved this to a Project file. I then changed the altitude from1900ft to the correct one of 1907ft. I see, in the newly created scenery file there is no cvx file but the airport background shows in FSX. I then tried to delete this background using a Terrain Polygon, Exclude General, Airport Background. Compiled, in FSX the background had disappeared, great thought I. Back in ADE I then created a new Terrain Polygon, Airport Background, Flatten Mask Class Map ExcludeAutoGen. Compiled, however in FSX the background appeared as the 'original' and not as the new one. I tried adding Terrain Polys to this 'original' but with no success, it still showed as the 'Stock original'. Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong ?

Problem solved, although not perfect. Added some land class which removed the offending vegetation.

Been working with LOWI on and off. Be aware at the of the seasonal changes, for some reason it can drop a nice fir tree off runway 08, taxiway Alapha (starboard side) right on the bend as Alpha leads to Lima.

I have completed my version of LOWI and tested your remarks by selecting all 4 seasons one after the other without any fallen fir tree ! If you contact me with your email I will gladly send you my work. This is a special project for my FS Team and has in total 17 medium Parkings. It is correct to Google earth and can also be used with P3D. I only have version 3.4 but my colleagues say that it also works in P3Dv4.
Thanks for your remarks and looking forward to hearing from you.

As a matter of interest have you based the taxi ways etc and layout on the recent Aerodrome charts as well or only google earth which can be 3 to 5 years out of date.

Yes the airport layout etc. is based on the latest airport charts from navigraph, but some details are from Google Earth, mainly those which do not affect the layout.
