• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Prop_still always visible even at full throttle

Hi. I'm transitioning from FSDS to Blender. All going well thanks to Krispy's videos and the Blender2FSX toolset, but I've run up a bit of a brick wall trying to get my prop_still object to stop showing up all the time. I've tagged/assigned it with "prop_still" but it shows up through the entire RPM range. All prop parts are animated and tagged separately. Any ideas on what I can check to get this corrected? Thanks in advance. Screenshot, at full throttle:

Thanks, Bill. It's a twin engine inline, counter-rotating job (Bugatti 100P), so I am using both prop0_still and prop1_still. I also just now checked, and my prop0_blurred and prop1_blurred parts aren't disappearing when I shut down the engine. I figure I've got to missing a setting somewhere. I guess I'll have to re-visit Krispy's videos. In FSDS it was easy, just choose the correct part name and everything worked. The Blender animations are working just fine in FSX, however.

I wondered about that, F747fly. In the blender2fsx animation section I make sure "visibility" is checked, but there's nothing to choose from in the list that appears below it after checking it, which may be normal, and I'm careful to the click the "assign" button. I created Krispy's "testplane". It's been a while since I've flown it, so I'll fly it again and see if its props behave properly. If so it would seem to confirm that I missed a step or steps somewhere. Thanks.

Try enabling visibility and then re-initializing the toolset, this should make the list of tags visibile.

Well, "Frits" is a much better name than the next in alphabetic sequence... "Grits"! :duck:

Seriously though, "Frits" is just another way of spelling "Fritz" after all!

Well to tell you a story, people do find this a very strange (and somewhat laughable) name outside of the germanic spheres. It seems to be perfectly accepted (but old fashioned) in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In the Netherlands and Belgium it is seen as a rather strange name, names now tend to be more within Anglo or French spheres rather than germanic names (Dispite dutch being a germanic language). I can live with it, but when I go to Russia some people immediately assume I'm from Germany :rotfl:
My parent were too late with giving me my name I guess, in the 90s the trend already was English/American names haha.
