• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Real NZ Nelson - thanks to FSDeveloper

A big thank-you to FSDeveloper, and especially Arno, for his great tools which make getting back into development a lot quicker. After a dreadful couple of years, including a major earthquake this year, I'm just about to release Real New Zealand Nelson, which hopefully gets me back into steady airport development.

I've learnt to love the ground poly wizard in ModelConverterX, and I've even started to take advantage of the other great MCX features to process my models.

This scenery is finally finished, and will be made available to pre-purchasers tomorrow, but here's a sneak preview...

Looks great, nice work!

Yes! Applause! and much of it!

I fly out of Nelson in FS9 quite a bit. It will at least be nice to have it this nice in FSX. I would ask if you will be making it for FS9, but I wont. I know for scenery people, FSX is much easier and will not work in FS9 as nicely... <sigh.. > But! Congrats on nearly getting it done!

Is there a Wellington done yet or a Woodburn, out of curiosity? I make testing jumps often to those airports from Nelson.

Hi Bill
Two of the main features of Nelson for FSX-- the 50cm city textures, and the 15cm airport textures -- are so difficult to make work in FS9 that it would lose too much in the conversion.

There are 'legacy' versions of both Wellington and Woodbourne, available for FSX and FS9, but I've removed the FS9 versions from my store. The FS9 versions will eventually be uploaded as freeware.

For FSX, both these airports are included in 'Across the Strait.'
