• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS Removing stock cars from carparks

Hi Jon,
I’ve brought in a stock airport to basically retain the runway information. I’ve used exclusion rectangles to block all and they all work on towers/windsock etc. I’ve removed aprons etc but I cannot get rid of the cars in the car park. I’ve tried rectangles over 1,2 and all etc and used the option to simply exclude cars (cause everything else is gone) but they seem to generate randomly across the area so the exclusion doesn’t seem to have a finite base.
Anyone seen this before?

Hi Dick. No that option doesn’t work for me. Interestingly I tried it as a separate project with the InSim Tools and that did not work either

Thanks. I'm looking at it now. The only obvious thing is this:
excludeAllObjects="FALSE" excludeCarParking="TRUE"
and I have
excludeCarParking="TRUE"

That is weird! it works. Wonder why the FALSE was missing? Thanks for the help. Tick that one off as solved :)

I have an opposite question - is there a way to ADD a default car parking?
I'm quote sure that default car parking come straight from Open Street Map data.
Check if the parking Is in the source data, if not you can try adding It and *hopefully* in a future update that data Will be imported as well in the righ location

The default parking I'm seeing has no correlation to what is on maps. There are just clusters of cars facing the same (wrong) direction.

While I can't add "default" car parking, there are plenty of individual parked cars, clusters of parked cars and lines of parked cars in library objects. Check search results for car, truck and pickup.
