• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Run Time Error

This just started to happen and I don't know why==>

"Run-time error '429'
ActiveX component can't create object"

This error appears when I attempt to compile xml library

This never happened before.
Any Ideas?

Have You installed any new program? Maybe something that uses Visual Basic libraries, probably something old? I guess there were some OCX files needed by XML library creator overwritten or even deleted. Compare OCX files in ZIP files included with the files in your %WINSYSDIR% (Windows\System32 on NT/2000/XP).

Best regards,

HMMM, only thing I can think of having recently installed was a MS Power Point viewer and I also updated to a newer version of windows media player.

I will have to look and see if these are causing the problem.

If so, should I delete them, reinstall them(the 2 new programs ), or should I reinstall the active x components?

Thanks, Rellek

When I get home tihs evening I will try to find out which component is given the error. But Library Creator has no DLL or OCX files in the zip file, so I don't think that you can easily replace them.

Does this error happen when you start or when you click a certain button?

Ah ok, compilation has always given me trouble. You can always save the XML file and compile it manual.

What OS are you using? And have you copied the BGLComp as explained in the readme?

Yes, I have followed all the instructions in the read me file, and I have been successfully using xml library creator since it's release. The only other problem I had in the past before the runtime error was that the tool always created the same guid for each new library I created. Today I will see if I can compile the bgl manually and let you know the status.

thanks, rellek

OK, the GUID problem is know and I am working on a fix for that. I will try to release it ASAP.
