• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello
I think your project looks fantastic. I really hope you will manage to get it right :)
And you're really making a good progress as well!
Please keep in mind the optimization. You really want to avoid a poo storm like the one FSS faced after releasing their Embraer.
Best wishes
Andrew

Fast render, working on the overheadski. Am trying my best to stay within limit. Am using Synaptic A220 as reference with their stunning 1.7 million polygons. (Btw that project looks golden! These guys know exactly why they're doing) I think if I stay within 2.0 million I should be fine. Am now at around 700.000 everything added up. Than textures and avionics are going to weigh the most.

Been working on it again, many revision after revisions. Constantly making corrections. I hope I soon nail it down to start the next step, getting tired of looking at gray panels, it's somewhat not motivating to continue.

I think I will now hold off the gray scales for a while until I actually start with the textures, we've seen it now. So these will be the last for a while. Thanks btw for all the peeps who following the project, and sending advise here or via DM's. :)

WOW, I just checked out this thread for the first time, I am blown away by the quality of the modeling on display here. I hope the textures will be of just as high quality! Keep up the excellent work! The SAAB 340 is one of my favorite aircraft for regional flying, I still sometimes take out the FFS Saab 340 in FS2004.

I hope we see a KNS-660, I don't think I've ever seen someone do that system for the sim and it's really interesting. I'd love to see it on a BAe ATP someday too.

Time flies! Already 25th, I still didn't start with textures. I've been in contact with the FBW team how to apply textures, turns out to be a little more of hassle than inital thought. So I've been working on the cockpit side walls etc.. Again it's grayscale nothing to interesting to see.

Hey buddy, maybe I am going too far ahead, but, do you think it is possible to include the Proppeller Brake feature to this Saab 340? I currently fly the ones from Carenado and XAviation for X-Plane but none of them includes this, it would be really interesting!

Regards!

When I was modelling this, switch I was like, why I never seen that feature on a Saab actually. But am considering doing so, I like that feature just like an ATR 72 if I recall correctly.

There must be a good reason for this feature not to be included in other add-on aircrafts, maybe a simulator related limitation like millions in existance?, I did notice thoug, from you latest screenshots, that the switch is not modelled on the propeller panel on the overhead, including this feature into this particular add-on might take it all the way up to the summit of my all time favourite add-on aircrafts though!

Thanks for the quick answer!

Regards.

They are still grayscale, I did not meet my expected target yet. I also found some fundemental flaws in my design that I had to redo stuff, and still some left. I hope to get some modelling done so I can start unwrapping stuff for textures.
