• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Well you are on a good road to make a career of it one day, if you so decide :D

Looks properly great. I can't imagine myself making anything like that.

Well, it can be a part time hobby kinda thing..lol

Thanks guys, its all because of FSDEVELOPER members that I have made it this far!

Haha, I m kinda hungry now....

So...I couldn't resist these two shots which actually show how small this cockpit really is..... I was stuck in there man....Don't worry about the textures... they are 2048x2048 px... I just forgot to turn them on... SO basically this is WIP from inside the sim... I removed the gauges because they weren't textured yet.... No buttons and no animations and a few missing parts right now.

Its fsdeveloper all the way.. and google images > from there if i find the right kind of related image I am looking for, I go for VISIT PAGE and find what I need! :p

So I was working on 3D gauge textures and had a question, but I thought I'll hold if off until I start animating the needles and other stuff.

Actually, they are 'needles' but of a rather peculiar sort. For the altimeter, there is a rotating disc with the pressure numbers inscribed on them (hectopascals (HPa) on the left, and kohlsman (InHg) on the right. The disc is just a round 'needle' as far as animation goes... ;)

Your 'artificial horizon' is likewise a disc that is animated in two dimensions; up/down for pitch, and rotated left/right for bank. I create a hidden bank object to which the "rotation" is applied. The actual disc is animated up/down, then Linked to the bank object.

Just what I thought! :scratchch

Hey guys, I was designing this aircraft clock and came across the one that I took pictures of that it had four hands.... I get the basic 3 hands of the clock but what is with this 4th hand?

Here it is:

stopwatch timer maybe?

Hmmmm, let me visit one of the instructors to see if he can actually help me out with all these gauges........

Bill I was actually stuck at the kohlsman disc!..... I don't know where to start? I mean if it were a compass I would start it from North (being in upright position at keyframe 0) but in a kohlsman(/hectopascals!?) disc where should I start from?

Secondly on the artificial horizon how much is the bank of the rotating object in the animation?

Here's a preview......

And Bill I almost forgot to ask about the hours on the RPM gauge? how to work with them....I mean when the sim boots up what should they show.... 00000?

WIP!

I think they show just how much time does the engine have. Maybe take a look at default Cessna how it does it? IIRC it also has this feature.

The sim keeps track of the engine hours for you.
Code:
(A:GENERAL ENG ELAPSED TIME:index,hours)
You will need to extract each digit individually to drive the number disks:
Code:
Tenth's of an hour:
(A:GENERAL ENG ELAPSED TIME:1, hours) 100 / flr

1's digit:
(A:GENERAL ENG ELAPSED TIME:1, hours) 10 / flr 10 %
10's digit:
(A:GENERAL ENG ELAPSED TIME:1, hours) flr 100 % 10 %
100's digit:
(A:GENERAL ENG ELAPSED TIME:1, hours) s2 l2 int - 10 *
