• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I am back again with another airport. Only this time, there is more than just a grey model.

This little airport is Saskatoon International Airport in Canada, not very large, but Aviasim is now just a one man team. I can not cope with massive projects on my own just yet so I fount this nice airport.

2 Preview pictures to start you all off, I hope to have this released before christmas.

Hope you like it!

Nice work. Being a one man team isn't so bad. You get to have control over quality. They do say if you want something done right, do it yourself. :p

Nice and a excellent choice. One those rare provincial gems that dont much attention. I for one as a Canuk from Yellowknife am very interested. This is one airport my VA flies into very often.

Update

I have the main control tower modelled and textured though I have not yet put the antennas on the roof, all them little things I will do last on every building.

Now with the terminal and control tower, I thought I would put them in place and show you, just one though.

Let me know what you think

Not to derail from the current announcement, but is it assumed that SMF is now dead? I could not find any answers from your Facebook page or other sim site, and your website is currently inactive. I was strongly looking forward to that one.

Darren, I just adjusted some routes for my Virtual Airline out of CYWG to Saskatoon and CYNR and back YWG via Saskatoon for training with the 737-200C. I know they'll love your rendition of Saskatoon Int. Back to prepping and cataloging Whitehorse material.

Been working on the ground for a few hours, here is what I have so far but before that, I want to go through some little things:

1) The terminal is indeed in the wrong place, it is just there because I was testing environment mapping etc
2) The long stretched shadow is because I tried to apply "Volume Shadow" to a part of the terminal (cast shadows on itself) but of course it doesnt work because it has open faces

The picture, tell me what you think:

This forum is the reason I can never release a decent scenery. Everything else just looks too good by comparison! :)

We all start somewhere buddy, I started on this forum and was the same as you... "all these look extremely good no point me doing anything" - but then I realised what this forum is for, helping new and current developers.

Scour the forum head to toe, same for the wiki, ask questions and you will be soon making your own realistic scenery or aircraft!

Perhaps once I get my head on right and start improving in Photoshop, I'll do just that. My modeling is the only thing I'm truly confident of right now. Your textures are heads above what I'm achieving.

cgtextures.com is a good website to use

my texturing is probably average or below average, i find its the most tedious thing in scenery design, whilst at first its great feeling, seeing the texture on your model, but then it begins to take way too much time and start rushing etc etc

I have been updating the ground, adding more textures etc, still need to add some tyre marks and grass edging but finding or making these textures is not easy at all.

I have recently been spending more time on buildings and texturing them, as the ground will be constantly getting updated, need to make progress equal!
