Good morning!

Here is my first topic in this website, There is an old aiport of my hometown in FSX ( AlgiersX 2011 ) and I wanted to add photoreal around the airport I know how to make photoreal with autogen at 70% but the problem is somewhere I can't add any autogen ( I mean if I disable the Algiers 2011 scenery I can see autogen ) but when I enable the scenery I can't see autogen in that area !, hope you could help me, thank you very much man ! here are two pictures will clear you the message, thank you again !

& Sorry if i'm in the wrong section to post ! ( in the red one i have no autogen with scenery enable, when I disable it autogen come back ) ! :(

Here is the link of the Algerian scenery : http://library.avsim.net/download.php?DLID=159368

By design photo scenery eliminates autogen. You have to replace it using the autogen annotator tool. Look at the autogen section in the environment kit of the SDK.

Hello:

AFAIK, you appear to be trying to further modify FSX local display of this add-on scenery:

Algiers Real Scenery X (aka "AlgiersX 2011" cited in the OP above)

http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=159368

IIUC, the above add-on scenery is intended to modify FSX local display of another scenery:

Algiers City X - PhotoTerrain FSX scenery

http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=159367

FYI: These scenery packages were made via a curious (but interesting ! ;) ) mix of legacy FS2Kx and FSX SDK methods / files.

As a minimum, you 'may' need to:

* Disable a legacy format (BGLC-compiled) 'Exclude'-type BGL: [DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\vtpexclude.bgl

UPDATE: This BGL does not exclude Autogen

* Create your own custom photo-real aerial imagery BGLs via FSX SDK Resample using blend masks and specific LODs which allow for super-imposed display of your scenery on top of the underlying custom photo-real aerial imagery from:

[AlgiersCityX install path]\Scenery\0130020332_13.bgl
[AlgiersCityX install path]\Scenery\0130020332_13lm.bgl
[AlgiersCityX install path]\Scenery\0130020333_13.bgl
[AlgiersCityX install path]\Scenery\0130020333_13lm.bgl

* Decompile the 461 *an.AGN files mapped to the above scenery photo-real BGL and merge their data with your own autogen annotation data, then output new 1-piece "hybrid" *an.AGN files under their original FSX location-specific file names ...which you can then annotate (IMHO 'properly') using FSX SDK Autogen Annotator.

Alternatively
: with your own custom photo-real aerial imagery BGLs created via FSX SDK Resample loaded (but the above cited "AlgiersCityX" Scenery NOT loaded / not 'active':

1.) Copy the 461 *an.AGN files from the [AlgiersCityX install path]\Texture folder

2.) Place those 461 copied *an.AGN files into the \Texture sub-folder paired with your own \Scenery sub-folder containing your custom photo-real aerial imagery BGLs

3.) 'Annotate' your own custom photo-real aerial imagery BGLs using FSX SDK Autogen Annotator

FYI: This may edit and update your copies of any *an.AGN files from the AlgiersCityX mapped to your own custom photo-real aerial imagery BGLs ...which do over lap with those specific LOD-13 scenery tile areas already covered by the AlgiersCityX custom photo-real BGLs.

[EDITED]

NOTE: Any annotations you perform on your working copies of the 461 *an.AGN files (from the [AlgiersCityX install path]\Texture folder) which were placed into your own project \Texture folder ...will be intended to replace those original *an.AGN files from the [AlgiersCityX install path]\Texture folder.

Thus, when you are finished doing your Autogen annotation for your 'own' photoreal scenery, the 'original' 461 *an.AGN files from the [AlgiersCityX install path]\Texture folder should be disabled (by ex: moving them into a *.ZIP file inside that same original folder).

This is necessary because, IIRC, FSX can use only (1) such specifically-named *an.AGN file mapped to a specific LOD-13 scenery tile area at a time when a FSX Resample SDK 8-bit Alpha channel 'Blend Mask' source file is configured via gray scale value transparency thresholds to blend (2) or more custom photo-real aerial imagery layers into one another (...so that underlying photo-real aerial imagery layers and any locally-mapped Autogen is allowed to show through to the layers above).

[END_EDIT]

BTW: 'New' *an.AGN files will be created by FSX SDK Autogen Annotator for any LOD-13 scenery tile areas which do not over lap with those specific LOD-13 scenery tile areas already covered by the AlgiersCityX custom photo-real BGLs.

CAVEAT: This project will require some rather complex techniques and study. :alert:

Hope this helps with the learning process ! :)

Hi again:

On looking further into this "autogen exclusion" display issue cited in the OP above, I have identified other more probable causes.

There are (3) Ground Polygons (aka "GP's") apparently made via ADE GP-Editor in:

1.) [DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\groundairport.bgl

groundairport-jpg.29539

2.) [DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\groundblnewterm.bgl

groundblnewterm-jpg.29538

3.) [DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\groundnewtermLM.bgl

groundnewtermlm-jpg.29537

IIUC, the above Autogen exclusion (typically associated with FS2Kx GP's) is most likely due to groundairport.bgl and/or groundnewtermLM.bgl.

UPDATE: groundblnewterm.bgl does not exclude Autogen

NOTE: After disabling the above (2) Ground Polygon BGLs, you 'may' be able to continue using:

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\EXCLUDEDAAG2.BGL

...depending on whether you have any further need to modify airport display in your own project.

You 'may' also be able to continue using the:

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\vtpexclude.bgl

...depending on whether you have any further need to modify scenery display of the surrounding area in your own project.

Hope this helps a bit more ! :)

Hello Gary, thank you very much for taking the time to analyze the scenery bgl's !

So I have done what you told me and same, still no autogen around the airport at all :( ( autogen come back only If I delete scenery ), I really want to make a photoreal to my hometown airport, absolutly no chance !

Hi again:

Don't give up; it is simply a process of BGL-elimination ...before you decide what may next need to be done !

Try disabling all BGL files in the above (2) cited AVSIM "Algiers" add-on package \Scenery sub-folders ...in steps.

Add copies of all BGLs in the above folders into a ZIP file left inside the original containing \Scenery folders.

Then:

1.) Delete 1/2 of all BGLs in each respective \Scenery sub-folder

a.) Test in FSX for Autogen exclusion

2.) Delete 1/2 of remaining BGLs in each respective \Scenery sub-folder

a.) Test in FSX for Autogen exclusion

3.) Delete 1/2 of remaining BGLs in each respective \Scenery sub-folder

a.) Test in FSX for Autogen exclusion

4.) Repeat as in steps 2.) and 3.) above ...until you find a group of BGL file or files associated with the Autogen exclusion.

5.) Restore the last group of deleted BGLs by un-ZIPping them into their original \Scenery sub-folder

6.) Delete 1 of remaining BGLs in each respective \Scenery sub-folder

a.) Test in FSX for Autogen exclusion

7.) Repeat as in step 6.) above ...until you find a BGL file associated with the Autogen exclusion.

a.) Restore that BGL by un-ZIPping it into the original \Scenery sub-folder

b.) Move that (1) file into a ZIP file, named ex: Suspect_[original file name]_BGL.ZIP in that \Scenery sub-folder

c.) Delete the original BGL file inside that respective \Scenery sub-folder

8.) Repeat as in step 6.) and 7.) above ...until you find all BGLs associated with the Autogen exclusion.

a.) Restore that BGL by un-ZIPping it into the original \Scenery sub-folder

b.) Move that (1) file into a ZIP file, named ex: Suspect_[original file name]_BGL.ZIP in that \Scenery sub-folder

c.) Delete the original BGL file inside that respective \Scenery sub-folder

9.) Repeat as in step 8.) above ...until you find any other BGL file(s) associated with the Autogen exclusion.

Once you find the name of all 'suspect' BGLs, post that info here, and we can advise you further on what to do next. :)

Hi Again:

I just discovered that a DAAG "airport" RWY BGL is SCASM / ASM; the RWY "lights" may also be excluding Autogen. :coffee:

Try disabling this first (...before the complex procedure posted immediately above):

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\DAAG.BGL

UPDATE:
This BGL does not exclude Autogen but 'Heading' values may cause FPS loss over time; see:

http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/th...ry-objects-be-called-from-fs9-fsx-xml.431609/

http://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=SCASM_Runway_Overlaysmat

Hope this helps ! :)

Hello again:

I was intrigued by this scenario, so I created my own "test" area of custom photo-real scenery and annotated it with some Autogen vegetation rectangles north and south of the airport RWYs and grounds closer to the DAAG airport.

I then did process-of-elimination testing of my own with the above cited scenery packages installed and 'active' in FSX:

Algiers Real Scenery X (aka "AlgiersX 2011" cited in the OP above)

http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=159368

Algiers City X - PhotoTerrain FSX scenery

http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=159367

I found that my Autogen annotations will not show within the above areas ...when these 'suspect' BGLs are loaded:

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\alltaxilines1_fsx.bgl
(SCASM / ASM code)

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\alltaxilines2_fsx.bgl
(SCASM / ASM code)

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\alltaxilines3_fsx.bgl (SCASM / ASM code)

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\alltaxilines4_fsx.bgl
(SCASM / ASM code)

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\daagN.bgl (SCASM / ASM code)

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\environment.bgl (FS9 BGLComp XML scenery library object placement code)

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\groundairport.bgl
(SCASM / ASM code)

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\groundnewtermLM.bgl (SCASM / ASM code)

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\jetways.bgl (SCASM / ASM code)

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\jetwaysV2.bgl
(SCASM / ASM code)

[DAAGRealSceneryX install path]\Scenery\signs.bgl (SCASM / ASM code)

You may wish to try loading your own custom photo-real scenery and annotations with the "suspect" files disabled.

Hope this helps a bit more ! :)
