• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Hi guys . I am working on a big package which includes close to 40 -50 objects . Some of them big chunks of map regions. I do not prefer to bake the maps but edit them very carefully to not to give any hard time to the simulation while flying around. Yesterday I have finished a big part of it and checked on the sim where it was all working perfectly then today I have finished the last objects and built the package again outside the sim with fspackagetool went into sim and all my previous objects were missing as well as the new ones. Only the shapes were there nothing else . I am downloading some add-ons time to time and seeing that people have different project folders for their whole project. Is this the way to go just to be on the safe side ???? Why there is no mention of a scenery limit per project anywhere ???

I will Split my project now if I can :(
BTW I have tried deleting the package rebuilding it cleaning it. Nothing worked :(

Hi,

i read the SDK for the parts that are relevant for creating a scenery, but there is no description of a limit.

I am currently working on a city project in which 63 individual objects have been placed on an area of 280kmĀ². Everything works perfectly. For another project - an airport - I used the "SimpleAirport" template and completely adopted the existing folder structures. Perhaps not all developers do it that way and that's why you will find different folder structures in some projects from other developers. But my recommendation would be to use one of the templates from the SDK. Then you are on the safe side.
