• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Scripting Error Exception In Gmax

I'm using the Gmax FSX gamepack and created a house from a tutorial. When I click on FS Tools and select LOD Name Tool, I get this error exception message:

Max Script Error Message.jpg

Why am I getting this message? I've searched for a solution and have not found it. Actually, this tutorial was created for FS2004. Since I'm using the gamepack for FSX, could that be the problem? It doesn't seem to me that would make any difference since one can create this model in the game pack fsx and should be able to use the FS Tools.

Hi Dick,

Windows 10. I did create a box in Gmax just to test it out and clicking the LOD Name Tool worked just fine.

I just asked because I had to make a bootable Windows7 partition to get everything working... sorry.
I used to use Gmax exclusively. Got real good with it too! Had a lot of issues with it as Windows evolved. Errors, crashing, unstable. I know you don’t want to hear it, but do yourself a favor and switch to Blender. (It’s free) There is a learning curve but the results are SO well worth it! Just a friendly suggestion.

Wish I could help with the error.

That suggests there may be something wrong with the path to the problem files or materials, or something wrong with the names given to materials, etc.?
