• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Oh Boy here I go again. I'm still not able to connect to FSX. I've tried all the methods and then some. Changed Firewall setting, removed Firewall without any luck. No one else seems to have this problem so it must be me. I've even used Flight One's AFX program and it connects just fine, but I do like FSX Planner. So can anyone give me some help here??

It seems that the most successful method for connecting to FSX when you are having a problem is to use the faux remote connection method. It is described here: http://www.zbluesoftware.com/fsxplanner/simconnect.cfm#blocked

Make sure you have downloaded the alternate simconnect.xml file nad have all of the ports and ip addresses correctly specified in the various files.

You mentioned that you have tried all the methods, so it is possible that you have already tried this and it didn't work. If that's the case please let me know, otherwise let's see what happens using the above method.

Thank you Russell for your reply. Moved XML file to FSX folder as decribed and used remote connection and we have a connection.
It would be nice tho if the plane ICON would follow the acft as you slew around the airport. Maybe this is something for the future. Anyway all is working fine.

Glad you got it working!

There is an option to have the plane icon follow the aircraft's position within FSX. This page describes the various options: http://www.zbluesoftware.com/fsxplanner/simconnect.cfm#plane You want to make sure that the 'Cursor auto follows FSX plane' option is checked.
