• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Ok...as per recommendation, I went and got this program.

WOW!!!!!!

Took me all of about 3 minutes to figure this thing out.... the basics anyway. By minute 5, I was making very cool 3D buildings. By minute 10, I was doing some amazing 3d objects.

I am watching every video tutorial and studying everything so that I can start having some real fun with this.

If anyone is interested in trying to learn how to model...you have GOT to get this.. I have the full version of 3DS Max...and I now wish I had never wasted that money... Because this thing is totally 100% FREE!!!!!

I did in 10 minutes, what it took me a couple days to do in that program.

Ok...sorry to spam here about this...but I couldn't resist!!!! WOW!!!!

Did I say WOW!!!!!

Hi Greg,

I agree, SketchUp is very easy to learn. I think for making scenery objects it is the easiest tool around. When you want to make complex animations or aircraft I think you still need the more complex tools though.

Unless you come up with support for animations!!! :D
Or Google makes it easier to make animations because I still have not figured out how to do it.
You can make animations in GSU but it turns out they are very different from what we call animations!
Hopefully I am wromg.

From the book I have about SketchUp it seems animations are a sequence of different viewing angles for the object. Not sure how that could be translated to FS.

Yes animations would be nice ... but not in SketchUp. Arno is right,... it only animation it does is viewing sequences.

search on sketchup plugin and see some interesting stuff.
videos for sketchup for dummies also good.
