FS2004 Smooth Flatten/Terrain - How to?

Hey there,

I came across a problem that I have no idea about to solve...
I'm using a quite big Groundpolygon in my scene which comes a long with a big area to apply a flatten to.
The problem is that the terrain isn't smooth at the edges of the flatten-area.
Is there any chance of fixing this problem?
I know, there is one.
But I don't know which program to use and...how to.
I would be very pleased about any kind approach :)

Best regards!

Hi,

I think the best solution is to try to use a smaller flatten if possible. Else you might try to have multiple flattens to make a more smooth transition.

Hey arno,
thanks for your reply!

I thought about multiple flattens, too and tried it with SBuilder.
But defining some flatten-layers and then generating a flatten-bgl didn't work.
I'll post a screenshot of that setup-later.
Or what is the best way to define mutliple flattens?

Doing a smaller flatten is not a solution for me.
The thing is that the terrain itself is quite uneven itself...
(Mountains in the South, Flatland in the north)

SBuilder kind of makes a smooth transition, at least it did on my machine. Mind you that mesh is highly dependant on the end users settings tough.
