    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

Hi,
I am making new SODE jetway to Phuket airport. I have the XML already with coordinate so I would like to edit XML by hand, not placing with the placing tools.
I found that I have big red cross over the jetway and the jetway does not move at all. I wonder what could be wrong.

I mixed that up. I have static jetway in my scenery. So I could see both jetway and red cross which was very confusing.

I found out that the problem is not either the xml file nor the file names. I thought after checking many times that nothing wrong with all the file. I got back to MDL file since I thought the problem might be the texture files.
My MDL had custom environmental reflection. I decided to remove this map from my material and re-export again. When I got in FSX, I could see my jetway after many attempts for the last whole week.
Custom Environmental map for reflection is not allow in MDL for SODE!
Have you found this problem?

Since this thread is related with SODE red cross I want to share here as I have the same issue with ZBAA airport. Attached the xml file and see if someone can help me.

Have you resolved this issue yet?

Yes, resolved via removing all VGS references from WFSS_ZBAAv2.xml file like:

<SimObject Name="VDGS GATE 103">
<Placement Lat="40.0812938486" Lon="116.5837124053" Alt="21.653544#AGL" Hdg="303.3"/>
<Model SimTitle="12bPilot_SODE_Honeywell_Old" StaticSimTitle="12bPilot_SODE_Honeywell_Old_Static">
<VDGS DistanceUnit="M" CaptureDistance="180.0" LateralOffset="0.03">
<Stop Distance="28.0" AircraftTypes="B767;B757;A300;A310"/>
<Stop Distance="30.4" AircraftTypes="ALL_SMALL"/>
</VDGS>
</Model>
</SimObject>
</Stand>

It is quite simply regulated in SODE.

If you have a red cross, you can roughly say....
SODE is running and the SODE.xml file is recognized and read by SODE.

What is not found and recognized by SODE are the associated 3D models.

Either the 3D models are missing or there are different notations between xml, sim.cfg and model folder or modell.cfg...
Here already a blank or upper/lower case can make the difference.
