• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

FS2004 [SOLVED] fs9gps: Can't type the letter 'X' if Active Camera is installed

Hey all,

Thread says it all, and I am mostly posting this to help out anyone else who inexplicably can't type certain letters into their gauges.

In my performance module for the classic 747, I have an airport lookup function that has the user type in the ICAO code for the airport they would like to analyze. The system works great, however I found that I could not get the search function to accept the letter 'X' for airports such as KLAX, KPHX, VHHX, etc. Attempting to type the letter X simply did nothing, the search function was not updated and no result is returned. Typing any other letter, for example, K-L-A-S, works just fine. I verified that my X key works, for the record... :p

It occurred to me that I have Active Camera installed, which traps the X key by default to enable external camera view. This action does not occur if the user is in 2D panel view, but it appears the key command is trapped anyway. Disabling active camera immediately solved the issue. Changing the key command assignment in Active Camera also resolves this issue (I don't really ever use the external camera view anyway, and if I did want to I could use the drop down menu at the top).

Just hoping to help anyone else out there out in case you run into an issue with key traps not working: check your external modules and programs!
