• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Have you read the original post, atorque? And have you read the AVSIM thread linked there? There's been a lot happening in the MS Flight threads here and elsewhere during your recent absence from this site and you don't seem to be aware of it.

Seems to me when jobs and salaries are at risk, it's time to rein in the idle chatter, however much we might wish to keep it going.

P3D exporters seem to work fine for me (in Max)

The "tools" that Microsoft provided for FSX (even at Sp2) were far more underdeveloped than the P3D ones (object placer XML, anyone !?)

A "birdy" tells me that Prepar3D Version 2.0 is quite a step forward from the current 1.2 release. I can speak no more of this at present.

The bathymetry function was released after the SDk, was it not? As I have no interest in underwater scenery (yet) I have not looked into it much.

The point of course, is that the platform IS being developed (unlike FSX) and that development IS open to third parties and independent developers (apparently unlike Flight!) --- at this point someone usually mentions X-plane, which is fair .. but there is a fair developer gradient to adapt things to that.

It is possible to speak freely in China, if you are a high-ranking party officiial (or indeed the President) ... so I see no problem there. You may need to cultivate some relationships before the move. Networking is very important.

The theophylline / caffeine tea argument is an old one. I take my tea with water (however) and there is absolutely no way a cup of tea gives me a caffeine buzz (unfortunately).

It also depends what sort of coffee beans you are referring to ... with Arabica beans having a great deal more aromatic quality, and a lot less caffeine than robusta varieties.

We must know the same birdy then because it is not as much of a secret as you think regarding the changes for V2.0 release. I personally believe that 2.0 should have been 1.0 and everything up to now should have been done with a "secret" beta team. (I will propably get flamed to death for this statement)

The bathemetry function was part of the initial release of the product. I know becuase I started developing stuff for it as soon as PPD came out in November of 2010. My posts are still there of some of the experiments I did in PPD but since they banned me, it now appears as "guest" lmao!! Then they broke the bathemetry feature in the next release and didnt even realise it and thanks to my constant moaning they had to fix it for 1.2 release. I can go on for hours regarding the bugs and mistakes I have found up to now.

I guess my view on PPD is skewed becuase of losing a major customer because they simply refused to tell me when they were planning on repairing major issues with the sim. "I dont know" does not go over well with professionals so the customer pulled out.

My favorite coffee facts are:

Coffee is the second most traded commodity on earth. Originally coffee was eaten. African tribes mixed coffee berries with fat and made "energy balls".

People who buy coffee primarily at drive through windows on their way to work will spend as much as 45 hours a year waiting in line.

After a career in the US Navy, I swore when I retired that I would never drink another cup of rot-gut Navy coffee. I am able through the benevolence of friends to pick my own green beans and roast them myself. I like Arabica from southwest Columbia roasted to late first crack, a very light roast. The lighter the roast, the more caffeine. Also the lighter the roast the more you taste the varietal bean rather than the roast. (I hate a dark roast.)

Like scenery, it's the attention to detail that counts. Where were we?

You guys want to hear some nasty remarks about the 'coffee' in the German Navy - sorry, the German Fly Navy?

For breakfast and dinner we used to find some silvery tankards spread over the long tables. If we were lucky there was some steam rising up from the narrow vent on top of it.

Usually we didn' t care what it was - we just drank it. One day a certain morose mumbling started from one end of the table: "Do you agree that the coffee tastes pretty odd today?" "Let me check what we are served today", a sailor replied and walked over to the sheet of paper where the canteen regularly announced the diet.
"They printed tea!" was the result of his investigations. The same moment somebody from the canteen crew passed along the tables carrying two steaming tankards and shouted: "Anybody some more cacao?"

So, in the interim that this post was made, P3D has announced a new price cut to $200.00 USD from $500.00 USD. Also made a $50.00 USD 'invitation' to students of flight.

SO now, its available to the masses at $200.00, $50.00, and also at $10.00 a month, USD.


At Sim-Outhouse.com, they are now launching a P3D forum.

Still to expensive for me.

Same as for 1 Iphone I get almost 10 Xperia Mini pro. Updated to Android 4, it's even better. ;)

So you can bet that I don't own a Mercedes...:D but a 16years old Audi A4 Avant. Still runs perfectly, but I want to trade for a electric vehicle soon.

We have a whole fleet of electric vehicles and when they're not being charged the kids run them around the house to disturb an otherwise peaceful coffee break. :banghead: I'm going to pull the batteries from the remotes next time.

We ran out of coffee the other day, and had to buy some beans from the supermarket ...

I found myself almost agreeing with Quentin Tarantino's character in Pulp Fiction.

Can't remember the exact line ... but some rant about how crap the supermarket coffee his wife buys is ....

Funny what you'll drink when there is nothing else .....
