• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Suggestion: add suffix numbers to the SceneGraphNodes

I was jumping backwards and forwards checking specific ModelParts that were quite some distance apart in the model hierarchy and it occurred to me that it would be a lot easier if each node had a number. This would make finding nodes and model parts a lot easier in this type of situation.

Hi,

So you mean give them a name that has a suffix number. What kind of nodes are you looking for? There might be other ways to select them instead of only looking at a name.

Btw, I have just started working on another feature that might be interesting for this. But I'll keep that as a surprise :D

Hi Arno

I was simply thinking of

SceneGraphNode1, SceneGraphNode2, etc..

The number would just act as a reference flag so, if for example, I found my directional gyro's tape and face under SceneGraphNode20, but the drift knob was under SceneGraphNode32, at least then I'd know which SceneGraphNodes to keep switching between. I wasn't thinking of anything more complex than that.

OK, so you mean how they are shown in the tree view?

Hi Arno,
Great !
I was dreaming of that feature and you did it ! A great time saver also when looking for the LVars to use with our hardware !

Can't wait ;)
