• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hey all! So I've finally gotten up the courage to attempt do some fs9 editing (although XPlane really turns me on lol). I just cant let my FS9 go!

I'm trying to edit the terrain around KSTL since its on a bit of a plateau. I created all of the approach lights with the tall structures and everything with EOD(VERY proud of myself!), but they wont look good until I get the terrain at the 30 approach end correct..

Been fiddling with TS for months and i have no idea what I'm doing wrong. Nothing ever looks even close to what I'm trying to achieve. I've already gone thru the TS instructions many times.. I'm so lost in the sauce, gents.. Any words of advice? I'm about to loose my mind on this lol

In order to know what you might have done wrong, I need to know that you are using the latest release (2.0.08), what you have done (in TS) and what you are trying to do (in TS) that's not working for you.

It would also be helpful to have your related .tsd, .tsp and .bgl files.

The version I downloaded today from Stuff 4FS is 1.2.08. I've attached the .bgl .tsd files. Where do I find the .tsp file?

Below is an example of what I'm trying to do. I'm not great at explaining it lol Don't laugh.

I would eventually like to do more detailed terrain around the airport to add the highways and stuff, but i figured this small section would be a good place to start my practice..

What you seem to be attempting to do is within the capability of Terrain Sculptor. Whether or not FS9 will give you acceptable result remains to be seem.

But you approach is wrong. You have a flatten at 604'. Only a few feet away you have a row of sculpts at 570 ft. That will simply generate a cliff -if you are lucky, or just a mess if you are not - which is what I see.. (And why the row of sculpts at the same elevation; you only need the end points..) You need to give FS9 room to generate the desired slope. I suggest you move the eastern edge of your flatten closer to the runway.

BTW, the .tsp file will be wherever you told TS to put it.
