• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

So..this is the error i'm getting.. not sure what else to do. It was a PNG...converted to JPG, BMP, everything. still the same error:

Is the texture size square and similar to like 512 x 512, 1024 x 1024 or 2048 x 2048? Could be that the compiler really wants square textures.

This was clearly the problem...at least im not getting any error...but texture still no showing up on the sim.
Should i go with png? jpg? any other special setting?

I've been getting that too! I had exported them from Gimp as PNG's, and I was sure they were square going into Gimp as jpg. Anyway, I've checked again and while some that aren't square are fine (eg. 256 x 128) the two in question are odd sizes in the exported PNG. Going to resize and retry.

I’ve the same problem, I can see only the texture used in SimpleScenery! Any other type of .PNG don’t work and give me your same error!

Changing them to 128 x 256 in Gimp and re-building, and they convert successfully. I'm not sure how the original sizing happened, probably an accident when I had been working on them in Gimp earlier, but it does seem that as long as the texture can be divided by 2, the build will work. If not, it seems to cause all sorts of errors, and not just fail to generate those 2 textures.

I just wanted to give you a big thank you! I completely forgot that was said in the SDK documentation and I spent all day trying to figure out the solution.
